Production Team Leader

Summary:
Production Team Leaders help the department supervisor
coordinate the efforts of Production employees to convert raw
materials and assemble component parts into finished goods as
directed, using appropriate machinery and equipment and
according to approved blue prints, ISO Work Instructions,
Production Schedule and established departmental work practices,
while always adhering to the Atlas Box Employee, Quality and
Safety Manual.
Responsibilities:
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervises smaller, ad hoc teams assigned by supervisor
to complete specific jobs within the allotted time frame.
- Works with Supervisor to encourage team work and promote
positive work environment.
- Trains and develop employees on production related
activities, including but not limited to:
- First piece and in-process quality inspection
- Efficient yielding of raw materials to minimize scrap
- Read and interpret drawings and blue prints
- Maintain work areas based on established 5S standards
- Performs first piece and in process inspections based on
established ISO guidelines.
- Maintains work areas based on established 5S standards.
- Cleans equipment and machinery as needed.
- Resolves problems and related production difficulties in
an efficient and timely manner.
- Directs production activities to complete the job using
established ISO Work Instructions using specified machinery
and equipment in the allotted time.
- Offers assistance and instruction to employees.
- Reports and documents emergency situations to Supervisor
immediately.
- Reports production problems or discrepancies to
Supervisor.
- Oversees production pace to ensure schedules are adhered
to.
- Delegates job duties and ensure employees are completing
jobs properly.
- Applies knowledge of operations to detect unsafe working
conditions and unacceptable employee performance, and
reports such circumstances to Supervisor.
- Yields raw material to minimize scrap/waste.
- Makes and utilizes jigs to simplify and streamline
process.
- Moves product using pallet jack and fork truck.
- Sets up and monitors machinery, equipment and work
cells.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or
equivalent.
Prior supervisory and related work experience preferred e.g.
Carpentry, Woodworking,
Construction, Corrugation and/or Light Assembly .
Ability to Lift 30 Pounds
Bilingual is a plus
