Production Supervisor

Summary:

Production supervisors manage the efforts of all Level 1 and 2 employees to convert raw materials and assemble component parts into finished goods as directed, using appropriate machinery and equipment and according to approved blue prints, ISO Work Instructions and established departmental work practices, while always adhering to the Atlas Box Employee Manual, Quality Manual and Safety Policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the Atlas Box Employee Manual, Quality Manual and Safety Policy at all times
  • Follow established ISO Work Instructions as applicable
  • Train and evaluate new employees, develop and mature existing employees
  • Educate employees on industry specific jargon related to materials and equipment
  • Train all employees on proper usage and maintenance of machinery and equipment
  • Cross train employees to support business goals and objectives
  • Perform progressive counseling as required
  • Complete employee performance reviews before due date
  • Complete assigned manufacturing projects using proper machinery and equipment in allotted time
  • Insure employees yield material to minimize scrap/waste
  • Maintain an Organized and neat department according to established 5S standards (Straighten, Sort, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) at all times
  • Ensure accuracy of daily time and attendance for all team members.
  • Be able to interview and assess people prior to and after hire
  • Ability to follow up on instructions and tasks.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with other supervisors and across all shifts.
  • Must be able to understand and update the Production Schedule.
  • Hold Daily/Weekly Team meetings or whenever necessary.
  • Motivate the Team to perform the day-to-day production with a positive attitude.
  • Assign Daily Dozen housekeeping tasks (sweep, empty trash, process scrap, etc.) as required
  • Report safety and quality issues, along with any maintenance needs to Foreman
  • Set up machines and work cells to insure proper assembly
  • Monitor assembly lines and work cells as required to establish and maintain appropriate pace
  • Work with Level 2 Production employees to encourage teamwork and promote positive attitude
  • Insure that all required work in process inspections are completed and documented
  • Answer questions and problem solve as required
  • Make and utilize jigs
  • All other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required, 3-5 years experience preferred. Previous experience with carpentry, woodworking, construction, corrugated and/or light assembly is required. Proven supervisor experience is required.

Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
